SMALL SIMPLE ACTS OF REVERENCE

We all sometimes feel a sense of barrenness and we search to find a way of satisfying this hunger. In our modern lifestyle we often feel that we are just about able to balance all the demands placed upon us – earning a living, running a household, caring for families, supporting friends, being involved in the community. We often feel that there is just too much and yet we all feel in our bellies there is so much more.

This 'so much more' need not be a huge 'mission'. It need be not something so big that we will only get to it when all else is done and completed. We all know deep down that day will never come! We simply can not avoid our Soul's needs and stay well, and healthy and content. Daily nourishment can be small and simple acts of soulful activity - not another thing to add to our everygrowing list of things to do!

Our homes are Sacred Space! And Spring is the time to really honour that. Our homes, our gardens are our sanctuaries. These places are where all the most important things in life happen - where we love, care, share, eat, sleep and where we are safe to feel our sorrows and our pain. Our home is our Hearth - our Heart. When we carry out even the simplest of act of reverence, such as placing a flower on our front door, we invite the energy of abundance into our home, we Bless all our visitors as they enter and we change the feel of the whole day ahead. A candle on the dinner table makes our meal a celebration, it reminds to be grateful for the food we are provided with by Earth, it brings a lovely glow to all the faces of those we love and if we are alone, it honours our own uniqueness - gives us a special moment that we all so desperately need! Playing some uplifting, soothing or medative music is a simple and really effective way to cleanse away the Winter energy and call in Spring - if you can sing or play an instrument yourself or with friends even better! Sing whilst you cook and clean! Get your children singing! Music and song really gets into corners, nooks and crannies and shifts the old, the negative and the stagnant!

There are many ways to bring the sacred into the mundane.

Small, simple acts of reverence.

Crafted into the everyday.

AND FOR OUR LOVELY CHILDREN:
"Magical Journeys for Spring" - the unusial never fails to add sparkle!
Take a picnic for an early breakfast even if the weather is typically Spring and a little unpredictable! With a picnic of cereal, a flask of tea for you and warm honey milk for the kids, eggs and toast wrapped in aluminium foil, embark upon a magical journey to your nearest place of natural beauty – the park, the beach, the woods, even the bottom of your garden!

As you walk try to see the world with wondrous eyes and create an enchanted landscape by naming and creating new landmarks. One morning when my daughter was younger we had breakfast upon “Castle Mound”, we collected pale yellow blossoms from the “Fairy Tree”, we walked through “Creaky wood” and found a fairy forest. We admired the “Mother Tree” who shelters many creatures and is hundreds of years old, wise, and the Queen of the park. We walked three times clockwise around her making wishes for the day. We arrived home with rosy red Springtime cheeks, bright hearts and a basket brimming over with fir cones, feathers, and blossoms (some litter too!).

MAY YOU, YOUR HOME and YOUR FAMILY BE BLESSED THIS SPRING!
